Professor Welch was unforgettable. I first encountered him at Advent Fellowship at the turn of the 1980s and again when I joined the Breath of Life SDA Church decades later. He seemed to have changed not a bit. Calm, knowledgeable, spiritual, teachable, never condescending, professional, Afro-conscious(if that is a word. Condolences to the family – Monica, Gem, Pedro, Yolande, and others. God bless you all.
Sincere condolences from the Sealy family as well as the group, YESS. We pray for God’s comfort to his family at this time.

When I was told of Bro. Welch’s passing I felt very surprised although I know death can come at anytime. He was a very humble man although he attained many educational milestones. He never allowed his strides in life to define him but always welcomed persons he interacted with in a humane manner.
His work on earth has ended and he will rest until that great getting up morning. 🙌

in heaven.
See you in the morning.

Brother Pedro Welch was a devoted leader who shared the love of Jesus with my sister and l through Bible studies during Pastor Maitland’s Crusade in 1976, which ultimately led to our baptisms. Afterward, he often visited our home to chaperone us during camporees, AY programs, and church socials, helping us to maintain our faith. He was a spiritual father to us and even gave me away at my wedding in 1986.
Carl and I cherished the time we spent with Brother and Sister Welch during our visits to Barbados. Brother Welch will be deeply missed, and his caring personality will always be remembered. We look forward to reuniting in heaven. Our deepest condolences go out to Sister Monica Welch, their children Dr. Pedro Jr. and Gem, and their extended family. Elder Welch always had an encouraging word for me whenever we meet. My last memory of him is at a Wednesday night prayer meeting when he was testifying and giving God thanks for life that he can come to church to see the brethren in the congregation; he even called my name stating he was happy to see me. When my husband passed last year, he took the time ever so often to send me a word of encouragement. I would miss those inspiring WhatsApp messages. Rest on Elder.
My condolences to his wife, children, Yolande, other siblings and loved ones.

Heartfelt condolences to Monica, Gem, Pedro and the entire family during this difficult.
Dearest Monica, Pedro and Gem and siblings,
My heart is deeply saddened at the loss of a friend, mentor and spiritual
counselor. Lance was introduced to me by my late husband Desmond in 1991 and from that very moment there was a bond of sincerity and humility exuded by this noble gentleman. My apprehension in transitioning to becoming a Barbadian, working and studying in the environment vastly different from my homeland was smoothly circumvented by his generous effort and sacrificial time he shared, to see me through each challenging process. Every key moment in my Barbadian experience has the indelible imprint of Professor Pedro Welch . At the death of his best friend Desmond, this illustrious gentleman again humbly assumed the role of advisor and comforter with a tower of strength that gave me fortitude to cope with the grieving process. Today I concur with every sentiment echoed, that this devoted family-man of God, exemplary in word, action and as an icon regionally and internationally of professional accomplishments was the epitome of God’s design for a purposeful earthly existence. Professor Pedro Welch has fought a good fight, he has finished the course, he has kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for him the crown of righteousness. May his soul rest in peace🙏🏿.Juliet
To Sis Monica, Gem, Pedro jn and family, may God comfort you during this difficult time from Carl, Marcella and Kamara.

May God comfort you during this difficult time as you hold onto the promise of resurrection day.
Condolences to Monica, Pedro, Gem and the entire family. Bro Welch despite of his accomplishments never made you feel any less of a person. I will miss his jovial personality of welcoming me from St. Lucia when I was just coming from St. Lucy. He also made the scriptures very revealing for your understanding. God will comfort you the family in this time of sorrow.
My sincere condolences to the entire family especially Sis Monica and Gem. We shall see him again at the first resurrection . Rest in Peace until thst great getting up morning.
