My family our condolences too you all wish I could be there physically in this time of bereavement may God give you strength in these difficult times,Norbert will continue to live on in our hearts with the good memories we have with him and of him may he sleep in peace from.Wiggins and King families.
Mr. Connell left an indelible mark on my life. His daughter Deborah was my classmate and one of besties at Roebuck Secondary school. Mr. Connell would take his daughters Denorah and Sharon to and from school, and as I was living not too far away, I would get a ride with him sometimes. I would also spend time with Deborah and Sharon during the holidays at their home in Sanford, St. Philip. Mr. and Mrs. Connell always made me feel welcomed. He was an experienced Police Officer and his loving wife was a Nurse. I always looked up to them as the perfect family and felt warm and safe in their company.
As life would have it, I became pregnant as a young teen and at a time when I was scoffed, sneered and ridiculed by many, the Connell’s stood by me and supported me. Never once did they made me feel unworthy or ashamed, as many others did. Mr. Connell even stepped up to be my first son’s Godfather. His strength and his family’s support and presence at the Christening was priceless. All of them came to support me. Yes, I still have those pictures in my album!
With tearful eyes I reflect on the significant role you played in my life, I do so with a profound sense of gratitude and appreciation. The last time I visited you, we had a long conversation about so many things. You also expressed how proud you were of me and my son (his Godson).
Mr. Connell, I’m happy to have made you proud, even though initially I thought I was a dissapointment. I am also eternally grateful for the role you played in my life, especially at a time when I could have easily crumbled.
Rest in Peace, rise in glory and may God be with you til we meet again.
Deborah and Sharon, my sincerest condolences to you and your family on your Dad’s passing. May you be comforted by the fond memories you share with 🙏

The Lord gives us and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord” is a statement of faith and acceptance, particularly found in the book of Job in the Bible. It acknowledges that both good and bad events are a part of God’s sovereignty, and even in times of loss, one can still find blessing in acknowledging God’s authority.
In the book of Job, the phrase is used by Job after experiencing a series of devastating losses, including the death of his family and the loss of his possessions. He doesn’t question God’s actions but accepts them as part of God’s plan. It signifies that God is the ultimate source of all things, both good and bad. It highlights the belief that God has the right to give and take away as He sees fit, and that His name is worthy of praise even in the face of suffering.
It is a powerful expression of faith, demonstrating the willingness to trust God even when faced with difficult circumstances. It suggests a mindset of acceptance and reliance on God’s will, even when it seems difficult to understand.
The phrase is not about blindly accepting suffering without questioning. It is about acknowledging God’s role and still seeking to understand and learn from experiences, even in the midst of hardship.
